Question du Jour

I have a question for the state of New Jersey - drivers in particular. And since the question I'm about to ask most likely could pertain to drivers in other parts of our country, well, this is directed at them too....

WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE NAME "FAST LANE" ON A HIGHWAY THAT DOESN'T GIVE AWAY ITS PURPOSE??

I commute about 12 miles each day on the highway. Now, granted, I'm normally running late and am already frantic and wanting to GO GO GO!

However, why is it that people who are driving in the FAST lane find the need to MATCH the speed of those in the middle and slow lanes? Even when there is no one in front of them??? Its not the MATCH lane people! Its the FAST lane!

And I'm not talking about traffic here. I'm not talking about stop-and-go conditions. I'm talking about normal driving conditions where there is room for slow pokes to be NOT in my way!!

Why is it that these people are oblivious to the fact that others are up their, well, you know, and that they need to get over???

And why is it that often times, I find myself going faster in the SLOW lane??

VERY FRUSTRATING.

Those are the times when I wish I had lasers on my car so I could zap them into oblivion and OUT OF MY WAY!
